Hiya my sweet peas!
Time for my Wednesday wardrobe round up again.
There's been colour, there's been a couple of misses. But this is my fifth WIW, AND I'm posting WIW Wednesday on a Wednesday, so there are many things to be proud of in this simple post.
Tuesday
Per Una bright chiffon blouse (old), white jeans and metallic sandals (M&S).
Topped with embellished cardi.
Wednesday
Soft orange Cashmillon twinset, metallic sandals, (M&S); Next white jeans.
Thursday
East aqua linen shirt dress.
Embellished cardi (quite a good match eh? Not bad considering there's 15 years between them)
And a summer outfit wouldn't be right without the Accessorize silk scarf.
Friday
In town buying Next long sleeve T shirt basics. A sign that autumn is fast approaching.
But not that fast approaching for I wore skirt! Ecru linen skirt. The White Company cardi, taupe.
The jersey/ chiffon top is from Next (old).
I experimented with cardi tying - not my best achievement.
So I kept the cardi as the designer intended, open and flowing.
Saturday
The sun's still here! I wore another skirt!
This time a white line skirt with one of my new long sleeve tops.
Is there anything in my summer wardrobe this scarf dies NOT go with?
After walking I made brownies and rum balls for the next day's family BBQ. Wearing pale pink and white? Don't fret, I wore an apron and no clothing was harmed during my messy work with chocolate and butter!
Brownies (recipe to follow soon) and RUM BALLS see HERE, and see HERE for Leslie's yummy recipe. These are things I take to get-togethers; on the savoury side, my go-to is CORONATION CHICKEN, recipe HERE.
Sunday
A lovely day of socialising, starting with morning coffee and danish pastries with the family.
And here come the misses - no OOTD shots!
I wore a variation on Saturday's outfit, swapping skirt for white jeans.
Afternoon at a family BBQ (Bro's burgers are legendary!)
Completely forgot about taking some good outfit pics, so the outfit didn't even make IG.
Monday
Rushing out the door to make my emergency dentist appointment, so slung on mum jeans, white vest top and UV cardi. If I don't take photos first thing, it doesn't get done. So again this outfit missed IG.
And that's my week in outfit pics, with a few omissions. Oops.
Yesterday I day-tripped over to a neighbouring paradise. The weather was ok but not the best.
Today it most definitely has not been the best, drizzle mostly all day. So after my housework, cooking and admin, I settled down with a coffee in my hand and a cat on my lap, and I found myself gravitating towards cosy jumpers online.
Are you starting to think about cosy jumpers too?
Or swimsuits and floaty kaftans if you live down south?
And what have you been wearing in September?
How's this month going for you? Super hot? Super busy?
I'd love to hear.
A la perchoine.
Super outfits for the super weather you've got. I especially like the coral and green outfit. Take care Mary. xx Jacqui Mummabstylish
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jacqui. We have been blessed with this weather, eh. Hugs, x.
DeleteGo many beautiful outfits! Love Fridays neutral one and the beautiful Thursdays one! They are all great! xx Maria
ReplyDeleteThank you, Maria. It's funny, Friday's are all old pieces that I've never put together- I strangely liked their parts when Sen as this unit, I felt ladyfied! Hugs, x.
DeleteI love that pretty aqua dress on you! You've had a stylish week! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Laura,I have so enjoyed doing these outfit diaries, everyday clothes worn every day. Hugs, x.
DeleteThings are already getting chilly here in Seattle, so I'm ready to pull out the sweaters. Love all the bright colors on you! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Lana, I expect Seattle is a little ahead of us with the seasonal changes and now's the time to start wrapping up. Keep cosy, x.
DeleteYou are so organized to get your lovely outfits photographed daily. I really like the aqua dress/cardigan mix.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim, I'm glad I create an illusion of being organised because most days I get there by the skin of my teeth! Happy weekend, x.
DeleteWhat lovely outfits! All of them were really stylish and the colours looked great on you. I especially liked the coral cardi over the blouse and the beautiful soft cardi over the East dress. I'm sad to think we are going to need woollies and winter wear soon; I much prefer summer clothes.
ReplyDeleteHave lovely weekend!
xxxx
Thanks so much, Vronni, and I'm so with you on summer clothes! I'm inspired to wear so much more colour. Those two embellished cardis are becoming little workhorses in my wardrobe, great sales buys, and I'm now thinking about how to bring them into my winter outfits.
DeleteHave a nice rest of week, x.
Love these colors on you Mary! Wow, and that scarf is so pretty! Who can go wrong with silk? Love the chiffon blouse on you too, pretty colors! I am looking to my closet for Fall, but cbecause I am in the South, it si Fall colors until next Month. Mmmm the brownine and rum balls sound yummy!
ReplyDeletethanks for linking!

Thanks so much,Jess. Yes we have a warmer September too so I'm still pretty much in summer clothes when the weather permits.
DeleteI do hope you have fared well this past week. My rellies in Charlotte were hunkered down in the house for five days but the storm has left them otherwise unscathed. Hope that's the same for you.
Have a nice rest of week, x.
I love every single one of these, but the linen dress is just beautiful! The color is so perfect on you.
ReplyDeleteBrooke
Pumps and Push-Ups
Thanks so much Brooke, the aqua is lovely and I'm sure it looks fab on all colouring. Have a lovely rest of week, x.
DeleteI really like Saturday's outfit - simple and classic and pretty. Here in Bulgaria on the Black sea coast we are still having summer days but nights are getting very autumnish - so dual dressing right now. Actually enjoying the cooler nights after a very humid summer. Lise
ReplyDeleteThanks Lise. I much prefer your "dual dressing" to "transitional dressing"! I've only been to Bulgaria once, in my early 20s and in September, and I remember it being still summer there, so it must be glorious right now.
DeleteHave a pleasantly warm rest of week, x.
PS: With the scarf :) Lise
ReplyDeleteThat scarf makes even plain pink and white a little dressy!
DeleteYou get an A+ in your daily looks this week! Such a glamour girl and I am happy to see a hint of leoprint too! Even with an apron I manage to get chocolate on my clothes. I'm a slob! The Coronation Chicken recipe sounds so good, I may need to make that for our next family dinner. I am anxious to see your brownie recipe!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend my friend!
Hugs!
xo,
Kellyann
Thank you very much for the grade, Mrs R! I'm liking glamour girl too 😆. Had to scroll back as I hadn't realised I was wearing leoprint, but there it is in pink and khaki. It's everywhere I look on social media right now, your old cardi is bang on trend.
DeleteDo make that chicken dish, the leftovers (if there ARE any!) keep in the fridge for a couple of days to dip into for lunch - and any hour of the day, truth be told 😋!
Have a yummy rest of week, x.
Some lovely colours Mary, you have the most amazing wardrobe. How do you store everything? I constantly have Mr M climbing up and down from the loft with bags of stuff.
ReplyDeleteWell thanks, Gail, I hang on to the things I like, and I like a lot! I try to avoid the loft trip arrangement these days, we're getting too old and stiff for that malarkey. So it's been top cupboards of wardrobes, stuffed into landing cupboards, under the bed drawers etc. But this past year I've started a new system, piling season switched stuff in B&Q cube storage and placing them neatly over the guest wardrobe run, with contents tags. This system seems to be working a dream, until I want to search out something that I wore pre-system - then it could be just about anywhere, including the loft if it's really old!
DeleteSo it's still work in progress.
Have an uncluttered rest of week! X.
You are so lucky to have so many days to dress up for. I only get to leave my house on average twice a week, all the other days you would find me wearing grubby clothes to garden or do housework in. I love all the pretty color in the first few outfits, but all the outfits are stunning.
ReplyDeleteAw thanks, Any. I'm enjoying the WIW post because it's a record of real life rather than outfits for the blog, which I enjoy too BTW, but life is mostly what we actually wear eh and my blog's a sort of diary about my life. My mantra is that if I wear my grubby working clothes for 2-3 days solidly then I'm not truly retired, so this WIW is like a weather vane, keeping check on my retirement! I'm happy with the grubby clothes situation for 1 whole day, stretching it at 2, or a short run of half days, but anything more gets me thinking that I've switched jobs rather than having taken retirement!!!
DeleteHave a grubby-free rest of week! x.
You keep the sun keep on shining with these brilliant colors! The aqua linen dress is so divine, and I swear you are the classiest lady I know!
ReplyDeleteOh bless you Andrea, you sure have a way with compliments! You're right, keeping the colour going in early autumn let's us hold on to the vestiges of summer and all that we love about it.
DeleteHave a colourful rest of week, x.
Lovely round up Mary! You seem to have been blessed with much better weather than us. I've started scrabbling about for small jackets and sweaters in the mornings here, but by lunchtime they can be discarded. I love to see all this fresh summery linen on you, the aqua shift dress is perfect in shape and colour - it suits you down to the ground.
ReplyDeleteHave a super week!
Anna x
Oh thank you kind Anna, I'm charmed by your words! I like linen because I have perfect defence for my crumpled look. Yes, the weather has been so kind to us here, a few cooler days, a day or two of rain, but September has been mostly brilliant blue skies, sleeveless tops and bare legs. So grateful.
DeleteHave a mostly discarded-cardi rest of week! X.
All looking very summery Mary. Lovely as usual. As you know my weeks have been quite hectic and I barely know the season but I have raided a sale or two for a couple of jumpers.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.muttonstyle.com
Thank you, AM. Oh such busy times, each. I hope your jumpers are successes. My foray has been a bit confusing, jumpers seem to be designed for the 5'10" these days. Have a super week, x.
DeleteSo many great pieces and fabulous outfits you've put together. I love the neutral pieces that really can create new looks by mixing and matching.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.mylittlenest.org
Hi Ruth, you and me both with that love of neutrals ! Thanks for popping in and for your nice words, hugs x.
DeleteLoving your outdoor shots Mary! Be proud to be on schedule, I am rarely that! xx
ReplyDeleteWell Laurie, the schedule went totally toes up after this post and not a squeak was heard from me for 9 days, oh the shame! And nobody missed me! I think you're a bit more on schedule than that eh. Have a great week, x.
