Don't get me wrong, I've been enjoying my few weeks of blog discipline and consistency. But then it takes just one scorchio of a Monday and this blog experiences sunny day slippage. I find myself posting Monday Mode on a Tuesday. Travel Tuesday on a Wednesday ... I think you're getting the picture of how this week is going to turn out!
If you've been popping in to this blog for any length of time you will know that I like to shop my closet. And I have much to choose from and can shop till I drop.
Same goes for travel. There is much beauty in my own backyard. I can travel till I unravel and still there will be new beauty to discover on this little rock of mine. So I stay on-island through the summer and shop Guernsey's gorgeous shores.

The beach just a few minutes from my home is the beach I enjoy the most.
The bay is perfect for swimming.
The beach is sandy (seen here at high tide).
And I want for nothing*.

A la perchoine.
* Well perhaps if I'm being picky, better luck with photos might be one thing I want for ... we paused from beach frolics to take a few photos and I binned all but this one! Not TP's fault, all mine, I think I had a bad attitude that day.
There may only be one photo Mary but it is a corker! And the scenery is so beautiful. I can quite see how you have everything you could ever want. Hugs x
ReplyDeleteThanks you sweetie, I think I squeezed rushed photos into an otherwise relaxing day and it showed in my attitude, so the one with my back to the camera was the only one passable!
DeleteThis one was a childhood beach and it seems like my secret beach as no one seems to use it, and it's only a five minute drive from home so jobs a good'un eh?! Hugs, my friend, x.
There is no need for travel when you have all this beauty on your doorstep.
ReplyDeleteSo true Christy, and I'm sure you feel the same about your lovely countryside too. Thank goodness we travel when we're younger and get the wanderlust out of our systems! Going to live in America must have been an amazing experience for you.
DeleteHugs my friend, x.
How wonderful to live where you do, Mary. I'd love to live on an island.
ReplyDeleteAww thanks, Sue, non-locals often feel hemmed in on "the rock", but as a born-and-bred islander I see the sea around as being inspirational and without boundaries. Hugs my lovely, x.
DeleteGorgeous photos and you do have a gorgeous place to be hemmed in on. I bet most of us don't wander to far from home anyway. Is there anywhere on Guernsey? I will admit that I did look up to find out its size and for some reason thought it was larger.
ReplyDeleteI get the sea making it seem endless and being incredibly inspirational. We just have a sea of grass inhabited by a lot of noises creatures.
Keep taking beautiful photos.
Xoxo
Terri
Thank you, Terri, it is a relatively small island as you've found out. Fortunately we all get to love what we have, though your noisy creatures and our noisy seagulls can be a challenge at times eh?! Wishing you a super rest of week, x.
DeleteBeautiful photos of a beautiful place - I must make it to the Channel Islands one day...
ReplyDeletexxx
Thanks Vronni, I hope you do get to visit one day. Each of the islands is different and there are some little pockets of paradise to enjoy. Hope your weekend is filled with joy (and a few charity shops!), x.
DeleteWell we will give you a pass for not blogging as regularly this week and instead ENJOYING YOUR LIFE! Ha! What a novel idea, it's what we should all do. As I sit here typing on my laptop there's a whole world outside I'm missing out on! Enjoy every moment in your beautiful paradise!
ReplyDeletexo,
Kellyann
Thank you, Kellyann. Have fun whilst the sun shines. Living in Florida you must be having more than your fair share of fun, then! But gosh, you certainly made me think about what we miss out on when blogging, that's certainly food for thought.
DeleteHugs my sunny sista, x.
It does look gorgeous. I might have to pop over for a visit one day! Photos just make me want to be there! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Laurie. Oh you've rumbled me - posting gorgeous photos of the island is my way of luring you here! But seriously, it's worth a visit, especially in summer, and the carrot that's going to cinch your visit - the flight is only 35 minutes!
DeleteHugs sweet lady, x.
I want to live where you live. This is just breathtaking and you are a whiz with your camera.

Oh thank you Bo, but I think spending a whole summer by a beautiful lake wearing only swimsuit and shorts sounds pretty much like heaven to me! I'm off to my true paradise today, I'll make sure to take, photos!
DeleteHugs my love, x.
