Well, dear darlings, this is one of the surprise dividends I've discovered having made that "duh" decision to follow the seasons through the medium of bedrooms (per my previous post).
I get a bigger bathroom!
And a bath tub.
A place to loll about in bubbles.
We built this bathroom 7 years ago.
Over the years it's become the guest room's ensuite.
Not ours. So the "duh" dividend is that I get to use a nice bathroom too.
Why oh why did I give this nice bathroom over to the occasional user?
When it could be mine?
It's been such a novelty, sleeping in this "new" bedroom and using this "new" bathroom. I find myself "discovering" things. I find myself saying "Oh look, the owner's left us some hotel bathroom products", and "I like the way she's created a little dressing table in that corner".
Yes, it feels like I'm on holiday. Like I've done a house swap. It's fun!
The bathroom has a Jack and Jill arrangement with the next bedroom. which is twin-bedded.
To spare the users and embarrassing moments, the locking mechanism is Jack and Jill too.
Cute, eh!
I find myself rushing to the bathroom when I awake. No not for the obvious! I fling open the window and see what the world has on offer today. Like little ponies.
The larger of these two is a shire cross. She's gorgeous and looks so beautiful when cantering, her mane, tail and hoof feathers splaying with the wind.
And when I finish my perusing out the window, I wear things like this.
To deal with boxes of old make up and undies that MUST be sorted and consigned to somewhere other than the nooks and crannies of Chez Pout.
Black jeans and vest column and a comfy beige jumper.
And nails!
And here's a first in blogland ... newly manicured and gelled nails displayed on arthritic fingers!
A la perchoine.
I wish I had such a sumptuous bathroom Mary! I can see why you rise with indecent haste to see your lovely tub! Nails look great too.
ReplyDeleteWe added the bathroom and the twin bedded room 7 years ago ... and I've had 1 bath in that tub! I'm not a bath person, but I'm determined that's going to change now!
DeleteIt's my first time for glitter nails. #excited!
Hugs, x.
Oh your bathroom looks simply divine, what a fabulous idea! Love your nails, mine need attention, but it's trying to pin my daughters down to do them! Thanks for sharing Mary - have a cool rest of the week. x Jacqui

DeleteAhhh take me away bubble bath!!! Love the nails...pretty pretty color!
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea, I must indulge in a bubble bath some time soon. Thanks for popping in, hugs, x.
DeleteHow lovely to have more than one bathroom!
ReplyDeleteMy dream is to have a downstairs loo as I frequently have to hop about with legs crossed waiting for other to vacate the bathroom and let me in.
Your bathroom looks absolutely gorgeous and I love the locks. Definitely a place for pampering and relaxing...
I have the same arthritic fingers too; only I don't bother with nails and gel!
xxx
Hi Vronni, well yes, calls of nature definitely become more demanding ! I really must give myself some pampering, I hope you pamper yourself in bubbles.
DeleteNow Vronni, I felt like that about my gnarled fingers but I have discovered that a manicure does take the eyes away from the ugliness, so do give it a go, please. Hugs, x.
You are so cute! I love your commentary. Good for you going on "holiday" in your own home. I love it and that view is so wonderful. Your nails look lovely!!! (dern arthritis...I'm developing some of that myself, it's hereditary) Happy Wednesday!!!
ReplyDeleteAw thanks, Lisa, so sweet. It still does feel like I'm staying in someone's house. Yes, mine's hereditary too, gelled nails make a good distraction! Hugs, x.
DeleteHow fun, gives a whole new meaning to the term "staycation"- usually that means you stay at a hotel in your own city but going on vacation in your own home is really quite something! If I had a tub like that I'd soak in it too. And what a lovely view each morning! Yes,I'd say Chez Pout is a pretty nice place. And I hear the proprietors are quite lovely people as well, wink, wink!
ReplyDeleteLove those gelled nails too - saucy!
xo,
Kellyann
Yes, Mrs R, I didn't even have to leave the house for this staycation. Aw how sweet about the proprietors, thanks, my lovely. And maybe I should write something nice on Trip Advisor!
DeleteHugs, x.
How funny! I'm so happy you rediscovered your "new" bathroom. What an incredible view too!
ReplyDeleteHi Amy, I feel a bit embarrassed about "discovering" this bathroom, it sounds like I live in a gigantic stately home and not a humble cottage! Thanks for your sweet words. Hugs, x
DeleteWow! What a view to wake up to Mary! And your bathroom/private spa looks very plush! I'm going to start on our spare bedroom after christmas. I'm quite excited about it. My own dressing come office room.I can't wait xx
ReplyDeleteHi Laurie, I am still not tiring of that view. I'll be working on my other double bed room now too, we can share ideas! #excited. Amy above did a bedroom makeover recently and did a fantastic job. Hugs, x
DeleteI'm envious that you are organised enough to have a spare room that is uncluttered and ready to just pop into. Actually in currently envious of a spare room now we have a house full again.
ReplyDeleteOh trust me it WAS filled with clutter, a whole attic full of clutter from when the house had been re-roofed.
DeleteI'm sure a full house must be fun, always something going on with youngsters, eh. Hugs, x.
