What I Wore in October #1?

Hello my sweetnesses, welcome to November!
October's been and gone.  Hope it was good for you.
I seem to have worn quite a lot of outfits last month, but there again, the month did have a full complement of 31 days.  So I may just have to split this post in two as it may become too unwieldy for you in one shot.

And in no particular order and with a risk of outfit repetition because of the way the pics have loaded, I give you what I've been wearing in October.

It rained.  A lot.

I got out of jeans.

But only occasionally.

But I was pleased with what skirts did come out of the wardrobe.

 Boots quickly became de rigeur.

I posh-smarted myself in a blazer.

I found myself a lightweight pink puffa in the summer and it's perfect for this time of year to sling over whatever to go to the shops or for a walk.  So it's been on repeat-wear as that's mostly what I do!

I love the strawberry and coffee icecream colour combo and will definitely wear more of this colour mix in the coming months.

Liked this old floral midi with my biker jacket.  It was a stormy and cold night and the biker stayed on in the restaurant.  And that's the nice thing about bikers, wearing my outerwear indoors didn't seem that weird.

My Leoprint scarf got it's first autumn wearing.  Looks like there's still plenty of that print around this season.

I haven't worn this old jumble sale necklace in ages, so that's had a few airings in the month.  It's made of belt hardware and weighs a ton!

Hats have been tethering my hair on blustery days.

Knee boots have come out, though no tights were worn in October.

I've been trying out all my jeans, and have put quite a few pairs in the charity shop basket.  But although these mum jeans are loose, I do like them so they'll stick around for a while longer.

,

I bought this white pash for my cruise and am loving it in Autumn to keep out the chilly winds.

I lost a dangly earring, searched around for it in clothing and hair then found it on the floor right under my nose.  We pensioners have to make up our own fun and games.

I've started using a hair thickening 3-step treatment.  Took a pic of freshly washed hair after the first treatment and will take another pic to compare in four weeks time.  I'll report back because some of you may be looking for an effective treatment for thinning hair too.

Another out of sequence shot.  Hey ho, life's too short ...
But it does show the detail of this old dainty gauzy drawstringy blouse (must give this more airings as it's a perfect foil for denim).

I was thrilled when mummabstylish HERE re-posted this pic on Insta.
Thank you so much, sweet Jacqui.

I experimented with front tucks.  But was generally unsuccessful.

I pulled out my comfy jumpers, they sure have been needed this month.

A long cardi is a perfect outdoors layer on milder Autumn days.

I did warn you about the out of sequence stuff eh?!

I dragged out an old brown suede blazer, another good outdoor layering piece for milder days.

And finally, I tried white jeans tucked in brown knee boots.  Hmnn, not sure ...

Have a lovely November week and
a la perchoine,
Mary x.

  1. Liked them all Mary, I seem to have a similiar wardrobe to you!I have been thinking of buying some 'winter cream' jeans, they look good on you. Where are you on the cropped, wide jeans look? I stick to skinnies mostly, the cropped look doesnt seem to fit into my day to day lifex

    1. Hi Lin,
I don't think those cropped flared jeans would suit my lifestyle either and they definitely wouldn't suit my short stumpy legs and so that sort of clinches the deal!
However I have been admiring those creamy whites on a couple of Insta ladies I follow but have no idea where to get them yet.
Please let me know how you get on with your jeans switches.
      Hugs, x.

  3. You look good in all these outfits but I particularly like the black with turquoise scarf and belt. The turquoise really lifts the black on you. I also like the long dark cardigan over the white shirt and that necklace looks fabulous.

    1. Thanks, Christy, the scarf is an all-time fave in summer but I'm trying it out in the colder months now and the belt was a lucky charity shop find. That necklace is a huge fave too, it was a gift years ago.
Thanks for popping in, hugs x.

    1. Yes Nancy, I still am amazed that you don't like jeans much, especially being Dutch as that's all I saw on ladies when I was working there decades ago, even on bank clerks facing the public, which was ground breaking back then!!!

  6. Your outfits are all fabulous, although I do prefer your taupe suede skirt with the darker top - not only the colour but maybe because it is a bit shorter. Your white jeans look fabulous with the darker boots. Very stylish and chic all-round. The turquoise scarf certainly does light up your face. I like the necklace in the last pic - is it wood? Lise

    1. Thanks so much for your lovely words, Lise. Yes, that necklace is polished wood and so lovely, it was a gift from a dear friend who also reads and comments here, so " thank you again, La Duchesse! "
