Saturday Sarnie

Hello my lovelies.
The day has been beautifully sunny.  But then most days have been beautifully sunny, as we have been blessed with another proper summer.

So today I had planned to write up a recipe I’m keen to share with you.

But I went cliff top shopping.

Then ate crab sandwiches out in the garden back home,

looking at a pile of wood panels on the lawn, soon to be my new She Shed.

And then got totally sidetracked with said She Shed.

Which needs its underbelly painting before assembly

Then all I was fit for was a relaxez-vous type of evening.

Wearing this morning’s purchase, a pretty pink kaftan.

Which I slipped over a very old black maxi, and then chilled for the rest of the evening,

So all I can give you food-wise are those pics of my very yummy crab sarnies.  Bon appetit!

A la perchoine,
Mary x

  1. I love the Kaftan, it can be worn with so many things but looks great over the black dress. I am not a fan of crab but I like looking at recipes I hope you share one soon. I have just only found your blog but I am going to take a good look at older post as I like what I have seen so far.

  2. Hello! I only just noticed on your IG profile that you are a blogger so I went off in search of it and here you are! My first observations are that you have a very patient other half. Mine moans about every single pic for IG so it is really tedious for both of us Secondly, what a lovely time you are having in your stylish retirement! I am fond of crab - we have a market in Arundel on the 3rd Saturday each month and I always buy crab which comes in from Selsey so I shall await your recipe with interest.

    1. Oh Joanne, I LOLed about your first observation and TP made a "finally someone appreciates me" slight-grunt noise. Anyway, I'm pleased you found me. And what a voyage you've taken me on - see my new post; I'm now going to have to stuff myself with delicious crab fettucine!!!

  3. I love your new kaftan; what a find! Didn't think there were any shops left around the cliffs...my favourite was always the shop at Le Gouffre. Has that reopened; pray tell! What I am most excited about, however, is your she-shed. Can't wait to see photos. Will there be a he-shed?

    1. It's a pretty kaftan eh Dutchie and yes, it's from our fave cliff top shop which reopened last year!! I remember buying those thin knit cardis in there with you that were all the rage 15 years ago, still have 'em of course.
She-shed building started yesterday, watch this space!

    1. Oh heck, rather cruel of me to tease you with crab sarnies - are they a big thing in Kent like they are over here?

    1. The build started yesterday, Lisa! The lippy is Clinique Chubby Stick but I can't remember which one I put on (I bought two new colours last week, I'm feeling the chubby love!).
