Shedding Dreams

Well, that was an Easter to remember!
It is highly unlikely that we Brits are blessed with good (i.e. dry) weather on a bank holiday, let alone one in April.  Thems the rules.
Yet, blessed we were, and not just with a dry four days over Easter, but four days with temperatures and sun hours to match most of those of our summer.
How lucky were we?!
We were the proverbial Happy Bunnies.

We more mature Happy Bunnies start thinking about our gardens at  Easter.  And on Easter Monday we head to the garden centres.  It's sort of the law.
Is it like that where you live?

Ever the traditionalist, I thought about the garden over the weekend.  Just thought.  No nails were broken, no knees muddied.
I concluded that I really need to face up to the elephant in the, er, garden - my two Leaning Sheds of Chez Pout.
So I needed to get on a serious hunt, not for Easter eggs but for a shed.
I also needed a few container plants.
And some lawn feed.
Oh I just kept on adding to the list over the weekend.
And by Monday I was ready, bright eyed and bushy tailed scutted and hitting the garden centres at ridiculous (for a pensioner) o'clock.

I love projects, probably because I love change and that's what usually results from projects. And I love sheds!

So put project and shed together in the same sentence and I’m one heckuva super excited bunny today because I have sooo much to share with you peeps, and it's not all about sheds!

Let me count the ways I'm a Happy Bunny, aside from a weekend of glorious weather ...

1. Yesterday was Super sunny so I got my feet out, first time this year.
-

Yes I shed the boots and socks!

(Excuse the blisters, this was preceded by my first day in sockless ballerinas too!)

2. Emboldened by Instagram reacting positively to my Double Denim at the weekend,

I again wore Double Denim for my Easter Monday shopping day spree.

This time I shoulder-draped my jean jacket, following M&S's TryTuesday "serving suggestion" .

Edgy, huh?

3.  I took this little outfit plant shopping ...

... then shed shopping.

Yes I went shedding, and I think I’ve found The One  💗 !!

OK it’s a summerhouse/shed combo but this baby has given my new shed plan such LEGS that it’s practically walking out of my PicCollage.

4. The shed inspired me to spawn an amazing plan that gives me sooo many pluses that it’s blown my little mind and quite taken my thoughts off my dental appointment this morning, which just HAS to add one more big fat plus to the mix.

And now I'm itching to get shedding!  It's going to be a exciting project  and yes, of course I'll share it with you lovely people.

I hope your Easter weekend was mega lovely and filled you with happy bunniness too.  And maybe sheds?
Have a happy week!I

A la perchoine,
Mary x.

  1. I LOVE that shed. A real she-shed. We are only allowed to have the most boring, practical, man-shed to be used strictly for storing useful man-type tools and things. My constant pleas for a lovely little summerhouse to plonk in the middle of the "tennis court" lawn and to be used for sipping aperol spritz on a balmy afternoon/evening are met with a stony refusal! Enjoy!

    1. Oh JayCee, YES! It's my Girl Shed! And I welcome you to an Aperol when it's finished, though we can always raise our glasses virtually!
But don't hold your breath, delivery isn't till the very end of May and then there's my June holiday, then the erecting, painting ... Oh please do not hold your breath!
Meantime, think about how you can get that man of yours to come round to the idea of
      your Girl Shed!
      Hugs my sweet, x.

  2. Oh Mary! That summerhouse/shed is just too perfect for lawnmowers, rakes, hedge cutters and all the paraphernalia of gardening. You should turn it into your writing shed/retreat like Roald Dahl...

I love the double denim look!

    1. Oh Vronni, here's the thing - it's got a little cubicle on the side for the business side of gardening, so all the fancy girlie stuff (like writing best selling novels etc) can happen in the pretty end! It's a winner, winner chicken dinner sort of shed!
Glad you like the double denim. Hope you're having a super warm and relaxing time in Ireland.
      Missing you, x.

Not looking forward to the crowds we visited our local garden centre yesterday. Very peaceful and pleasant and lots of new deliveries.

    1. Oh Jill, I would love to do a full makeover but just doing the back corner is going to add such value to the garden.
How clever to do the garden centre trip off-peak!

  5. I'm very excited by sheds, in fact I wrote about how I created my own version of Monty Don's shed in my other blog!! Your shed/sumerhouse is certainly the shed of dreams.
    Tootsies look very cute!
And yes, garden centres are The Law at Easter, although I actually went last weekend instead and bought a few plants, a container and some plant feed.
Thanks for joining #WowOnWednesdays. Your posts always brighten my day.

    1. Hi Kim, outdoors isn't for everyone I'll admit there's a lot of the hard graft in gardening that I'd prefer to give a miss if I had the choice!
Yes, getting on sandals over here is as exciting to us as a sweater day for you in Florida!you

  11. What a lovely shed! I think we arent "allowed" to have one in the back yard, as we have a HOA and aren't able to do much without approval. Our next place will be different! Love the double denim and enjoy your plant hunting!
    Happy Weekend!

    1. Hi Jess, I'm starting to realise through the feedback to this post that sheds really aren't just for men. We ladies LOVE a good shed! Shame you can't have one currently but if your home is some sort of historically protected building then there will be much for you to enjoy in its architecture and that is just reward, lucky you!
Have a super duper weekend, x.

  12. Oh, I do love plant shopping! Much more than plant PLANTING! Bending and kneeling are no longer my friends and my back would rather look at pictures of pretty gardens in a book than on my patio.

But that SHED! That's like my dream home! Can you actually buy something like that, as is??
