#2 Gone With The Wind

Hi sweeties.  How's October for you so far?  Cosy?

I'm on a short break and during my trip here I experienced the tail end of Hurricane Maria and even in her weakened state she's anything but cosy.  Especially if you're travelling.  And travelling in a small plane.  And an even smaller boat!

So we reached our destination with shaky legs, and even shakier fingers on the button of the paucity of photographic equipment here that can "talk" to you.  So this post will be brief.  And photos briefer.  For we managed just three shots of the subject matter before going out to dinner.

At our new photoshoot spot and using his new Kindle, The Photographer promptly claimed it wasn't taking photos.  It was.  Of carpet, curtains and other decor in the room as it turned out.  Anything but me.

If you've experienced a grown man stabbing his finger at a piece of A5-sized plastic, then you will know it is not a pretty sight.

So I stepped in with a selfie to show him that the device was working, but just not for him.  Turns out I look a bit of a mad woman when trying to prove a point.

I hurriedly came up with a plan B.  I would have to settle for one of those blogger OOTD selfies.   But that was only marginally better than the curtain shots so I gave up on that idea.

Miraculously, TP then managed a shot that wasn't of snippets of the room's soft furnishings.  This is it.  I'd better talk you through it because this photo does not speak a thousand words.  It's barely mumbling a few strung together syllables with any clarity.
So I give you black loose tunic top, black jeans, black boots.  Trust me.  That is what I wore.

I'm hoping that by tomorrow the shakes will have calmed, Maria will have puffed away and this sorry little episode will have gone with the wind.
I'll wake up and think of some way to get better photographs to you.
After all, tomorrow is another day.

A la perchoine.

  1. You are a hoot! You don't look like a mad woman, but you'd certainly have reason to after hearing about your journey. Hoping the return will be much smoother. XOXO

  4. Whoops, didn't finish typing. Packing is always a conundrum for me. I always need more room returning as my husband is addicted to travel t-shirts and I have been known to pick up an article or two of clothing. (Cough, cough) . We just came back from a 6 day trip to Hawaii where t-shirts and shorts were pretty much the order of the day. However, I had to buy souvenirs for all the grands and a couple of purchases for me and husband's usual couple of t's. We each took a carry on going over but I was sorry I hadn't taken a full sized case. I needed a couple more back up things as I fell (embarassingly) into the ocean in front of a ton of people and that was ONE outfit down.
I'm not quite sure where you call home base?????

    1. Hi again Anne, you are just like me, I too suffer from premature sending! Anyway, welcome to my blog. Your packing and outfit mishaps had me riveted! That fully clothed incident sounds quite a trauatic.
My posts can sometimes confuse, my home base is Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.
      Hugs, x.

  9. My hubs is as bad. He plays Paparazzi and clicks quickly and I end up with a stream of blurred moving images.

  10. I had an awful flight once in the wind. I know those shakes. The last thing on my mind was selfies and outfit pics. Anyway Maria has got the message now. I admire how you struggled on through to deliver. Stoic madam, stoic.
