Hey readers, I'm a Festival
Over the bank holiday weekend I festivalled. Yes, festival can be a verb; to festival, past tense = festivalled. Would I lie to you? 😊 .
An open air gig at the beach down the road from home.
A Bowie tribute act. What's not to love about that?
Sis and I.
And with Bro, and a photo bomber (a mate).
And a shrunken Photographer!
Not really, he hasn't been the victim of my legendary bad laundry skills, but he was the only one who had the sense to take a pack-a-chair. And it was his chair and he was gonna use it!!
Some chose to listen from the beach.
Not a bad idea, with the sea to handy to cool off.
Definitely something I'll do next year.
What a fab day with The Sibs ...
... And Photographer Lautrec!
What does a Festival Oldie wear? I wore a grey and white Next top, white shorts, Birkies and a black hat. A thin lawn scarf to drape over my shoulders to prevent sun burn when it was seriously hot. #nowelliesrequired, #nocardirequired!
Do you festival? What do you wear?
How exciting Mary! Was the Bowie tribute act any good? Next Sat we're going to a Radio 2 Prom in the Park with Ray Davies and Gilbert O'Sullivan. Wild! I haven't thought about what to wear yet - probably a fleece or two because it's quite cold now in the evening!
ReplyDeleteHi Gail, Oh I love The Kinks, you're going to have a fab time. I expect theirs was the military look and high collars - I'm sure you're going to rock the look again, just like you did at your last concert, but this time with a warm blanket too!
DeleteMy Bowie tribute was great for the rocky thumpy stuff, but they put in more recent moodier stuff which didn't fit the beachy atmosphere so much. And they didn't play all my faves, like Suffragette City :0(.
Hugs, x.
Bet you had a fabulous time, looks stunning, and super weather too - you were lucky. x Jacqui

Thanks, Jacqui, a good time was had by all! Hugs, x.
DeleteSounds cool and what a setting and you do look cool with the hat and the sunnies. There was live street music at the Crossroads last night, being 1st Friday and all. But, I don't festival.
ReplyDeleteYears ago, I took my youngest and her friends to a rock festival. I had to wear all black and a ball hat to hide my age. I first came out in a pink shirt that had a spinning wheel on it just to get her reaction-I quickly changed into the prerequisite black.
Awww, thanks Terri. Oh, I like the fun you had teasing your daughter with what she saw as inappropriate clothing! Hugs, x.
DeleteYou are festival chic in the ensemble! Love the hat! I agree, festivaled is a verb and a fun one at that. Looks like a great time and a Bowie tribute act sounds terrific!

Kellyann
Thanks so much, Kellyann. We agree on the English in this post, phew! Hugs, x.
DeleteFantastic! And what perfect weather Mary. Love a bit of Bowie xx

Yes, Laurie, we lucked out on the weather. Have to say, it's the rowdier side of Bowie that I most enjoyed, then and now. Hugs, x.
DeleteLove Bowie's music. Funnily enough I'm about to post on my Anna blog of a festival that appeared in my vicinity.
ReplyDeleteHi Anna, yes, Bowie was so good, RIP. How spooky is that, twin, you've been festivalling too! Look forward to reading it soon. Hugs, x.
DeleteI'm gone to inform my little brother, that he should also pay
