Today was a busy day. I played golf. Must take some pics one day. My golf bag is navy with pink and white trim. So I made that combo my Team Colours. Today I wore white trousers, navy sleeveless polo shirt with a white trim and a navy cashmere/merino V-neck. And little pink socks. None of that is golf gear, which I find far too expensive. I think I did Team Pout proud! In garb, not golf, which was just an OK day.
Are any of you golfers? What do you wear for golf? Golf gear or regular stuff?
We then needed to go into town, to buy pressies and all sorts of stuff. So a v. quick change.
White Peacock crops with Next cardi over a Per Una navy/white top. Now the top is as light as a feather and packs down to nothing, so it's a suitcase must naturellement.
BTW, I apologise for my hair, it had been clamped up all morning for golf, that really messes up my hair. But it has to be done, otherwise my hair messes up my game!
Then later I was very busy. Because look what's arrived ...
--- an embarrassing amount of t shirt dresses!
But don't fret - that huge box actually contained a new suitcase, so not so embarrassing.
As I write, I'm just fresh from a try-on of my bags' offerings.
The grey stripey dress I showed you recently was ribbed and far too clingy. Going back.
The stripey "butcher's" dress was exactly that and showed my knees, to boot. Return, defo.
(note to self, must remember to wear a nude undergarment with these)
Now, I know these three Dorothy Perkins jersey dresses look rather plain but they do tick all my boxes. They cover my knees (essential), they don't cling (absolutely essential), and they are relatively light for jersey dresses (pretty essential when packing). BTW, the two on the left are Bardot dresses but I think I have a cunning plan to make them bra-friendly.
Anyway, because these are plain they can be accessorised and layered to give unlimited looks. They can be dressed up or down. I'm showing themes to you as blank canvas, in their raw state.
Can you see the possibilities? How would you style them?
And sorry, my hair still hadn't settled after its early morning clamping. Apologies, could do better.
I am currently considering this one from Next. I think you can tell that from my face. Undecided. It's on the t shirt end of jersey dresses, quite fresh. Different day, same troublesome hair.
Are you a fan of jersey dresses?
A fan of t shirt dresses?
And finally,
You want drowned rat? I'll give you drowned rat!
This drowned rat here! During our beach walk yesterday the heavens opened.
"Look", said The Photographer, "We have the beach to ourselves!". What spin. For we did, all the clever walkers had scarpered. Just us left, looking like two drowned rats.
If any political party is looking for a really good spin doctor, then look no further than The Photographer, sign him up. Quick.
So, after revealing bad and really bad hair days, you will be pleased to hear that I have a date with a hairdresser tomorrow ...
A la perchoine, peeps.
i really like the 3 dresses you've picked and hope you also pick the stripe one. all look really great on you. i used to golf and altho i could not hit the ball far i did hit it straight so i was able to somewhat keep up with my husband. i did enjoy it. loved the fresh air and i loved the clothing. i won't do a sport that has ugly clothes. lol but mostly i loved collecting fallen bird nests. :) xo
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely and v. funny comment, Janet.
ReplyDeleteHitting straight is so important, you must be a natural. Sometimes I play military golf, left, right, left, right. So I have 3 shots where only one as necessary!
The ugly clothes and birds nests got me laughing!
