Australia has done so well and it’s such a shame the UK didn’t put in the lockdown hotels thing a year ago. It’s interesting to hear that these brief circuit breakers have worked so well, amazing. We went into our second lockdown immediately we found community spreading, that helped enormously.
Hugs x. thepoutingpensionerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13484934089759704702noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3385292529998118275.post-58300219404624580552021-05-05T08:18:15.608+01:002021-05-05T08:18:15.608+01:00It’s certainly been a rollercoaster been a year Te...It’s certainly been a rollercoaster been a year Terra, and we’ve had to learn to cope with a new phenomenon in life. I find my joy these days as I always have, in Jesus, women's Bible study (on Zoom this past year), my family, friends, flowers. And more of course. In a way, the first four months or so were the hardest, as the horror and prison feeling hit me. Now I have found ways to cope.Terra https://www.blogger.com/profile/04396481049075747940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3385292529998118275.post-86797145260800709752021-05-02T23:36:40.012+01:002021-05-02T23:36:40.012+01:00Don't feel bad for enjoying the simple things ...Don't feel bad for enjoying the simple things in life like matching appliances! I think we need to seize joy wherever we find it these days! I hope that your lockdown gets lifted soon too. We are so lucky here, our first lockdown in Queensland was 6 weeks but the ones after that have just been 3 days, and we have had I think 3 of them since last March? Not that the last one really counts, after the case got out of quarantine we managed to get all the contacts traced and put into quarantine so quickly that it was only 2 and a half days of lockdown!
I know we are so luck that hotel quarantine for all people who fly into the country is working to keep us safe - although with some cases spreading to the poor doctors looking after those infected people I really wish we would be better at vaccinating everyone!

Hope that you had a good weekend :) It's a relaxing long weekend for us!

Away From The Blue Micahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06858487062882928298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3385292529998118275.post-67883409215760558472021-05-02T09:56:34.675+01:002021-05-02T09:56:34.675+01:00Hi Jacqui,

My hubs has always played Classic FM ALL day and as much as I like classical music it can often be quite sullen and I like so many types of other music, so part of my self-therapy is to now allow myself time with “my” music and that has lifted me up.
Thanks for our chat, Vronni!
Hugs x. thepoutingpensionerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13484934089759704702noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3385292529998118275.post-85228186471799020812021-05-02T09:29:34.271+01:002021-05-02T09:29:34.271+01:00Oh that curmudgeon of a Lord P, I’m going to have ...Oh that curmudgeon of a Lord P, I’m going to have to have a word with him!
No I didn’t pick up on that every man for himself approach, my IoM cousins have failed me on their jungle drum reporting.
Chanting for your house sale as I type.
Hugs x. thepoutingpensionerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13484934089759704702noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3385292529998118275.post-45772402545959071762021-05-02T09:26:24.416+01:002021-05-02T09:26:24.416+01:00FINALLY you’ve managed to get through Dutchie, fab...FINALLY you’ve managed to get through Dutchie, fabulous! Well, as you probably know, our lockdown has just been lifted.. for good this time. If the plague returns we just have to live with it now.
I am not sure about joy as such just yet. Don't ask me how because I couldn't tell you. Really loving your black and copper appliances; very stylish! Your toaster looks almost otherwordly and snazzy. Are those two vertical 'windows' to check on the colour of the toast??
You ask how we have been getting through the lockdown. Well, we started ours in the 3rd week of December but things are looking up and rules have been slackened somewhat earlier this week. Vaccination programme not quite on schedule but moving along... However, we are still not able to go out for dinner or drinks inside bars. Terraces are open now but who wants to have lunch in 10 degree temperatures (it has been the coldest April since recording began...snow, sleat and hail included). Painting has been my saving grace during the lockdown. Nothing else to do or nowhere to go and loving this pastime. A hobby to completely 'disappear' into and shut the world out. I must say that for me personally the lockdown has not been a nuisance at all. Just felt sorry for the elderly who were not able to receive visitors for a long period of time or people on the ICUs who were not able to say their goodbyes to loved ones...heartbreaking. Spring is here, summer somewhere in the near future too so things are looking up. All is well in Dutchland! La Duchessehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07205029671510097708noreply@blogger.com
