Time to Celebrate!

I wrote my first post on this blog 18 months ago.
I told just three family members and two friends of its existence.  That was my starting base
At precisely 14.45 on 20.07.17 (sounds like I'm announcing a birth!) my page views tipped into 6 figures.  Yes, I stayed glued to my screen as I watched the figure move from 99,999 to 100,000.  To say I was excited and humbled is an understatement.
So I cracked open the champagne!

I am overwhelmed when I realise that so many ladies (and a few gentlemen) have found the time and the inclination to read me, and to keep coming back.

I love to receive your comments, that is one of the most satisfying aspects of blogging.  A blog can be a very lonely place and to receive comments thrills me down to my marrow!

Readers and fellow bloggers are such kind and helpful people, and so generous of their time.

I'll write soon about why I started the blog and what I get from it.

But I just wanted to share my exciting news with you and say
Thank you sooooooooooo much
for popping in!

    1. Oh thank you so much Deb, and welcome to my blog, I'm so glad you're enjoying it. I discovered early on that humour and being down to earth wasn't too readily available on some of the big blogs but I couldn't copy them, it would dampen my spirit and it definitely wouldn't be me!

  4. Congratulations to you Pouting Pensioner!!! I feel lucky to have found your blog posts (it just showed up in my list one day, happily) and look forward to more fun and inspiration. I am spending the afternoon with a friend and some tasty martini ingredients so we will raise a glass (two?!) to you and your special anniversary. Thank you for all you have shared with me, most especially your time.

Such lovely things to hear, sweet Jules. I am so excited that you will be raising your martini glass in my general direction, shaken not stirred (the contents, not the glass!)? Skaal!

  6. Congratulations and enjoy that champagne. You have a great sense of humour and don't take things too seriously so it keeps me coming back to read more.

    1. Thanks you so much, Christy. It's so nice to hear what you like about this blog, it's great to get feedback. Shame you can't pop over from Canada to celebrate with me - I'd even have put a few Guernsey Toms in a bowl for you and we could have reminisced together!

    2. If you will add some potatoes as well!!!

I apologize if I am being too flippant.

    3. The lady across the road from here sells fantastic new potatoes on her wall. I may even throw a pat of golden Guernsey butter on them, the condition being that you keep visiting this blog!!!

    1. Thanks Anna, yes it does! I was only days into blogging when I realised there were stats and analysis to entertain me. My KPI back then was: 1,000 views, then I might stop!

  10. Congratulations to you, Ms. Pouting Pensioner! I am of your vintage although not yet a pensioner (and residing in Vancouver, we don't call ourselves that!) I stumbled on your blog recently and have read most of your many very entertaining, inspiring and funny posts in the last month. Thank you for getting "out there" and being yourself. I read "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" a few years ago and was tantalized by your island so it's lovely to see your photos of gardens and beaches and landmarks. I loved the birdsong video along the beach meadow path and listened and watched more than once! I'm with you in singing loudly Sir Elton's I'm Still Standin'! - a true survivor feelin' like a little kid. You've encouraged me to enjoy being my best self despite the ever present temptation to just feel "old". I hope you never stop posting! xo

    1. Oh thank you so much, Karen and it's great to hear from you. You have written such lovely things, I'm feeling quite humbled and emotional right now!
I love birdsong, it's so uplifting, but the video clip was just experimental as I'm a novice at most things techie; you have inspired me to do more.
I entered into conversations with a lovely lady called Jules who has inspired me to write more of Guernsey ... when I have the time! Being retired is busier than working, so best stay working AND getting paid for it, is my advice!
I am so pleased to hear that you've been going through my back issues, I'm so flattered that you've allocated some of your precious time to do that.
I love receiving comments and feedback, as a blogger's life can be a pretty lonely place sometimes.
I'm hoping I'll hear from you again soon, Karen. X.
