Greenery - What to Wear at the Vet's

You've had some epic posts from me recently so let's keep this one briefer.  Let's give you a Word Rest Day.

I wasn't aware of the Pantone Colour of the Year palaver until I started blogging.  Apparently it's really important and this year it's Greenery.  Just because.

And the vagueness, the catch-allness of that name, is to me a signal that any shade within the green spectrum goes.  And there will be many, for according to The One Show, a prime source of reference, one UK paint company alone has over 150 shades of blue.  So I'm guessing that our green spectrum will be of similar number.

Colour is in the eye of the beholder, as I discovered on this blog by wearing this cardi a few times, which is jade or teal depending on the beholder.  Shades are subjective.

Today I'm wearing a jade  teal  Greenery cardi

The bracelet from East.  In any other world, it would be classed as turquoise in colour.  Is this perhaps Blue Turquoise, or maybe Blue Radiance in Pantonia?  Perhaps this is Greenery too.

Excitedly I spotted that this silk scarf is made up from jade teal Greenery and turquoise   Blue Radiance and mauve Radiant Orchid colours.  It's a perfect mate for this Greenery cardi.  It offers a lovely burst of spring colour.  Don't know why I've never thought to pair it with the cardi before.  But suddenly Greenery allows so many colours in my wardrobe to mix, to party.  It gives me free-rein within a 150 shade spectrum.  Yippeee!

And then Pantone leaves me falling off The Cliff of Colour without  parachute or safety net, as it offers no help on the rest of the colours of the OOTD.  I am left alone.  I appear to be wearing an ivory top and black jeans.

Pantone doesn't seem to be bothered with strong on neutrals, and leaves us to our own devices.  So I'm wearing, hmmnn Tusk on top, with Sooty bottoms.
Or maybe the top is Pout's White - laundry is not my forte, as was pointed out in a superb speech ten years ago, with exhibits of shrunken t shirts I'd laundered to back it up.
And perhaps the jeans are coloured Dirty Attic, or maybe 3 a.m., the colour of the dark hour when earlier today I was cleaning up the house after Bertie, whose recurrent cat stress manifested itself visibly.

So I've added Vet Visit to today's To Do List.

And the colour to wear at the vet's is Greenery.  Just because.

Meantime, a brief update on Stuff, and running out of word count for this promised brief post I finish off with the help of the modern writer's best buddy, the emoji.

Next πŸ‘— returned; too short, shows ugly knees.
White skirt found πŸ™Œ; fits, just, but looks a bit 🌷shaped on fatter body.
Stone linen skirt bought online πŸ’³ per Anna's helpful comment but found πŸ‘ its predecessor in attic raid  - The Pout'll be doing a lorra skirt-wearing this πŸŒžπŸ‘’πŸ‘“πŸ‘™.
πŸ›„ for short  πŸš£ 🌍.   πŸ’Ό filled lightly , just in case πŸ‘—πŸ‘–πŸ‘šπŸ‘ πŸ‘‘πŸ‘œπŸ“šπŸ‘ΈπŸ’²πŸ’· want to come 🏠with πŸ˜‰.

There, I am a literary genius as words have been used sparingly in that briefer than brief update!

And here's another 1,000 words saved ...

... with a picture.

Of Shell Beach, Herm.
Mostly in Greenery and Blue Turquoise  - Oh, bah humbug.  Did not Virginia Woolf say that the sky is blue, the grass is green?  I'm off to Woolfonia.  To my little piece of straight-talking colour paradise!

A la perchoine.

P.s.  Oops, I just can't do brief with you guys, eh?!!

  1. Lovely shade of green and fun posts. I have a hard time keeping to a 1000 words-that's my limit. It seems to me that everyone goes all bonkers right after Pantone releases their color for the year and then it promptly goes out the window.I just saw a film that covered all the Fall 17 big trends from the runway shows in NY, Paris, and Milan and the big color for them was red-suppose to be the #1 color trend for next year-so go figure. Take care, I need to come by more-I'm doing an extra post a month because of this linkup I've started and just need to get things balanced more. Take care, Terri

    1. Hi Terri, thanks for popping in, it's a challenge fitting it all in to the day, eh?! Yes, I think most of civilisation is oblivious to this Pantone thing, but thanks for the heads up on red! Have fun with your new link.

  2. The thing is I'm not seeing greenery in the shops. Seems to me Flame is the colour most taken with then greenery. You look lovely jade or whatever colour you want to call it. A linen skirt will serve you well I say.

    1. How weird is that? My 'greenery' is a few years old. I'm off to Southampton for a few days, I'll check out if it's blushing, aflame or all greened up. Thanks for guiding me towards the plainer skirt, just need to tan up my legs before I wear it.

    1. Well, this is a strange situation, both sides of the pond eh. I know I have a 'greenery' Monsoon jumper lurking somewhere - I'm going to have to dig it out as I didn't realise green clothing is the 2017 gold dust!!

    1. Hi Dan, thanks for your kind words (yes, I'm not very good at the selfie yet!).
That beach has memories for me - I was 17, May, a cloudy grey day, beach still quite deserted as it wasn't yet the holiday season, and I fell asleep on it. As I was alone and it was quiet, it was a long sleep. I awoke to clear blue sky and the sun beating down on me. I had my worst sun burn ever and still have a scar!
So happy weekend and take care with the Italian sun!

    1. What a tonic you are, Andrea! Thank you for being so sweet. I do love the colour and today I bought a summer top that's going to be a good mate for this cardi. Happy days!

  6. That's a fantastic colour, better than the true Pantone Greenery, and you've done Bertie proud wearing such a classy outfit to the vet!
Thanks for joining the Fabulous Friday link up.

    1. Thanks, Gail, I do love the colour but I doubt Bertie appreciated my efforts. Do cats ever?!

  7. Now that's a pretty green I like. From my experience, whatever Pantone says is the color of the year is always the color the following year, for it takes awhile for the stores to get them. Take blush for example, that was Pantone's color of the year last year, yet all the stores are carrying blush items this year. We'll see if the stores are filled with greenery this time next year!

    1. What a great observation, Amy, you are so right. In the meantime, I'll carry on digging out any old green clothes and call them Greenery then I can be ahead of the game!

    1. Oops, Laurie, your comment slipped under the radar and I've just spotted it. I like neutrals. A lot. In fact I will shortly be posting a very neutral outfit! However, the lovely Karen S got me interested in colour last year. I fell for her mustard cardi. So I went out and bought a mustard cardi. And a yellow. And this Greenery ... She's not blogging now and I miss her lovely chat and her inspiring outfits .. but I have stopped buying cardis!
