You've had some epic posts from me recently so let's keep this one briefer. Let's give you a Word Rest Day.
I wasn't aware of the Pantone Colour of the Year palaver until I started blogging. Apparently it's really important and this year it's Greenery. Just because.
And the vagueness, the catch-allness of that name, is to me a signal that any shade within the green spectrum goes. And there will be many, for according to The One Show, a prime source of reference, one UK paint company alone has over 150 shades of blue. So I'm guessing that our green spectrum will be of similar number.
Colour is in the eye of the beholder, as I discovered on this blog by wearing this cardi a few times, which is jade or teal depending on the beholder. Shades are subjective.
Today I'm wearing a
jade teal Greenery cardi
The bracelet from East. In any other world, it would be classed as turquoise in colour. Is this perhaps Blue Turquoise, or maybe Blue Radiance in Pantonia? Perhaps this is Greenery too.
Excitedly I spotted that this silk scarf is made up from
jade teal Greenery and turquoise Blue Radiance and mauve Radiant Orchid colours. It's a perfect mate for this Greenery cardi. It offers a lovely burst of spring colour. Don't know why I've never thought to pair it with the cardi before. But suddenly Greenery allows so many colours in my wardrobe to mix, to party. It gives me free-rein within a 150 shade spectrum. Yippeee!
And then Pantone leaves me falling off The Cliff of Colour without parachute or safety net, as it offers no help on the rest of the colours of the OOTD. I am left alone. I appear to be wearing an ivory top and black jeans.
Pantone doesn't seem to be
bothered with strong on neutrals, and leaves us to our own devices. So I'm wearing, hmmnn Tusk on top, with Sooty bottoms.
Or maybe the top is Pout's White - laundry is not my forte, as was pointed out in a superb speech ten years ago, with exhibits of shrunken t shirts I'd laundered to back it up.
And perhaps the jeans are coloured Dirty Attic, or maybe 3 a.m., the colour of the dark hour when earlier today I was cleaning up the house after Bertie, whose recurrent cat stress manifested itself visibly.
So I've added Vet Visit to today's To Do List.
And the colour to wear at the vet's is Greenery. Just because.
Meantime, a brief update on Stuff, and running out of word count for this promised brief post I finish off with the help of the modern writer's best buddy, the emoji.
Next 👗 returned; too short, shows ugly knees.
White skirt found 🙌; fits, just, but looks a bit 🌷shaped on fatter body.
Stone linen skirt bought online 💳 per Anna's helpful comment but found 👏 its predecessor in attic raid - The Pout'll be doing a lorra skirt-wearing this 🌞👒👓👙.
🛄 for short 🚣 🌍. 💼 filled lightly , just in case 👗👖👚👠👡👜📚👸💲💷 want to come 🏠with 😉.
There, I am a literary genius as words have been used sparingly in that briefer than brief update!
And here's another 1,000 words saved ...
... with a picture.
Of Shell Beach, Herm.
Mostly in Greenery and Blue Turquoise - Oh, bah humbug. Did not Virginia Woolf say that the sky is blue, the grass is green? I'm off to Woolfonia. To my little piece of straight-talking colour paradise!
A la perchoine.
P.s. Oops, I just can't do brief with you guys, eh?!!
